SPACES & EXCHANGES: ¿Qué? A cartoon by Nate Beeler (2007)
In this cartoon by Nate Beeler, we see the symbol of the republican party. This symbol is the elefant but, in place of the three stars in the blue part of the elefant, we see the symbols of the filths. This can be a message to say that the republican party have been defiled by Donald Trump. The filths can also represent the message that Trumps says about the migrants or the muslims for exemple.
In this cartoon, we can see Tv reporters interviewing a Mexican migrant. They ask to the migrant how he feel living with the american people, but the mexican guy don't understand the question. We see that the reporter have a dumb face. Hooked to the Mexican, we see a barbed wire, that represent the difficulty to the mexicans to go to USA. In the context of the cartoon, the image is saying that this guy have join the USA just right now, and that can explain why he don't understand the reporters, because he don't speak English. We see also a big contrast, the journalists have expensive material and close, and the migrant his poor.
The spaces and exchanges notion is represented in this cartoon by various things. First, we see a migrant going to on other country, That represent the exchanges, and also the space because were talking about countries. The presence of the media can refere to the notion because their reportage probably is destinated to be see in all the countrie, or traduced in other languages to be seen in other countries.
